Edible Wild Plants

 

We are only just starting to explore all the possibilities of edible wild plants that we have growing around us in abundance. Apart from the wild blueberries and blackberries the only other one we have tried so far are the wild leeks. This is the second year that we’ve been harvesting and cooking with these super tasty greens and they have now become a staple ingredient in a few of our favourite dishes. Some of them are apparently just a tasty treat but others, like the dead nettle below, come packed with all sorts of proven medicinal properties as well.
